Kingman, Ind - Franklin, "Frank" Dark, 49, a former postmaster here died at 10:45 a.m. Monday Aug 4, 1975 at Carle Memorial Hospital in Champaign, Ill. He had served as post master from 1958 to Febraury of this year when he retired because of illness. Born Jan 28, 1926 in Illinois he was the son of Oscar and Mabel Lee Dark. Mr. Dark was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Navy. He was a graduate of Kingman HS in the class of '44. He was a member of the Community Church of Kingman and the American Legion Post. On Feb 22, 1952, he married George Anna Maden who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah at Lafayette and Diana "Deke" at home; a son, Jay at home; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Dark of Kingman'; two sisters, Miss Dorothy Dark of Indianapolis and Mrs. Barbara May of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1968. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McMillan officiating assisted by the Rev. Mark Gallagher. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7--9 Wednesday. The family has requested any memorial be in the form of contribution to the Cancer Society.
